THE PMO GLOBAL AWARDS

AWARDS OVERVIEW

The PMO Global Awards is the annual world’s largest professional award for Project Management Offices, their organisations and leaders.

 

Created in 2018 and hosted by PMO Global Alliance, it annually recognizes and honors the work and efforts by organisations and individuals around the world, celebrating representativeness and diversity of countries, cultures, and experiences.

 

More than a competition, the PMO Global Awards is a vibrant learning process where the exchange of knowledge and experience contributes significantly to the maturing and evolution of the PMO global community.

 

Many aspects make the PMO Global Awards unique, but most of all, the passion for the PMO profession that drives over 500 volunteers, who lead, collaborate and make this initiative a big celebration for the PMO global community!

PMO Global Alliance is a worldwide organisation that manages a global community of PMO professionals, with more than 10,000 members in over 105 countries.

 

The PMO Global Awards is one of its most important projects, led and carried out collaboratively by its members.

AWARDS ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE


ADVISORY BOARD:

 

The volunteer members of this board have as their primary objective to support the evolution of the PMO Global Awards recommending improvements for the competition’s processes and rules, as well as contributing with creative ideas that help to expand our initiative, generate more benefits and maximize the value delivered to the global PMO community. They can also support the PMO Global Awards by raising sponsorship and partnerships with local and global organisations, professional associations and universities.

 


INDUSTRY BOARD:

 

The volunteer members of this board have as their primary objective to ensure that the industries they represent can be properly represented at the PMO Global Awards by identifying potential competing organizations around the world. They can also support the PMO Global Awards by raising sponsorship and partnering with local and global organisations, universities and professional associations.

 


GLOBAL AMBASSADORS:

 

Global Ambassadors are volunteers responsible for “spreading the word”, encouraging organisations and individuals to engage and participate in the PMO Global Awards. Our Global Ambassadors are passionate about what we do and believe that the values of representativeness and diversity are important and worthy of the PMO global community evolution. They support the PMO Global Awards by identifying potential sponsors, partners, organisations, and individuals who can join us, increasingly expanding the impact of this amazing initiative.

 


AWARDS CHAIR:

 

The Awards Chair is responsible for leading the PMO Global Awards and officially representing it with the community. It has the role of public relations and it is the highest level of decision making in any dispute not solved by the committees, seeking advice from board members whenever needed. It does not influence the technical evaluation process, which is performed exclusively by the Judging Committee.

 


ORGANISING COMMITTEE:

 

This volunteer committee is responsible for leading the PMO Global Awards project, planning, controlling and integrating the work of other committees during all stages of the competition. It has a special subcommittee responsible for the Awards Gala Ceremony.

 


NOMINATING COMMITTEE:

 

This volunteer committee is temporary and aims to make decisions regarding Entry and Nominating stages issues. This committee acts by recommending potential nominees for the competition. It is formed whenever necessary, being temporarily composed of members of the Judging Committee, usually representing an industry or a country.

 


JUDGING COMMITTEE:

 

This volunteer committee is composed of professionals from different countries, selected by the most experienced practitioners, executives, consultants, and researchers. The members of this committee are responsible for evaluating the nominees according to the established technical criteria, having full independence and autonomy to make their decisions, not being influenced by political issues or members of other committees, Board members or the PMO Global Alliance Chair.

 


REVIEWING COMMITTEE:

 

This volunteer committee is formed only upon completion of the Evaluation Stage and it is responsible for reviewing and consolidating all judges’ assessments in reports that are delivered to the organisations that competed in the World and Industry Awards categories. These reports contain significant and valuable comments and recommendations for improvement provided by the judges during the evaluation process.

 


AUDITING COMMITTEE:

 

This volunteer committee is temporary and aims to audit the last round of the evaluation stage, which defines the winners of each category. It is formed only at the end of the evaluation stage and it is composed of members of the Judging Committee representing the same home countries as the finalists. Members of this committee are given full administrative access to the evaluation platform, allowing each judge’s assessments to be reviewed and their results validated.
